4 Development of a Hiroyuki Inoue, Kaoru 2011 This paper analyzes current advertising models,
digital signage system Suzuki, Koji Sakata and focusing on content production to identify difficulties
for automatic Kaori Maeda in applying local content to digital signage. We then
collection and apply the one-source, multi-use approach to resolve
these difficulties, and propose a mechanism for
distribution of its reusing the existing content automatically. This
content from the proposal is positioned to lower the threshold
existing digital advertising with digital signage during the transitional
contents and its field period, while this new media is spreading and there
trials is still uncertainty regarding its effectiveness.
EXISTING SYSTEM BLOCK DIAGRAM
DRAWBACKS OF EXISTING SYSTEM
• This system has very high cost of installation and operation, which
makes it not suitable for the low cost businesses.
• The proprietary software and hardware components doesn’t allow
the user to customize.
• Expansion of data storage also cost money.
• No way to reduce power consumption.
• No method to detect if any person is in front of the Display Unit
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• The system consists of Raspberry Pi which will act as the heart of the system, a
web server to host the front end as well as backend web interface.
• The Digital display is connected to raspberry pi using HDMI, no additional
hardware is required for using display with raspberry pi.
• Raspberry Pi is connected to the router and that router will provide connection to
Raspberry Pi so that the remote accessibility can take place. The real time data can
also be displayed.
• Features like uploading and deleting notice/information can be done through the
control panel.
• Each user will be provided with a username and password to access the control
panel.

COMPARED TO OLD SYSTEM
Currently Available Systems Improvisations Made
1. PIR sensor is not included. 1. PIR sensor acts as motion detector reducing power
consumption
2. Expansion of storage is not possible 2. One MicroSD slot expandable upto 64GB.
3. Licensing fee for hosting are charged on the user. 3. No need to pay licensing fee for hosting.
6 Installation $490
7 Initial project Management $200
8 Total Cost $3,720
This cost approximates to $ 103 per month which is equivalent to about ₹ 7200 in Indian rupees per month.
HARDWARE DESCRIPTION
RASPBERRY PI 2B:
• A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU
• 1GB RAM
• 100 Base Ethernet
• 4 USB ports
• 40 GPIO pins
• Full HDMI port
• Combined 3.5mm audio jack and composite video
• Camera interface (CSI)
• Display interface (DSI)
• Micro SD card slot
• Video Core IV 3D graphics core
• Push type SD card holder.
• Less Power consuming System Chips
• Support of Dongle for networking.
HDMI CABLE
• HDMI offers Bi-directional control signal transfer.
• HDMI offers 5 Gbps bandwidth, 55% spared for future expansion.
• HDMI offers 1 simple, user-friendly connector.
• HDMI technology is backward compatible to DVI hot plug enabled assemblies up to 5 meters in
length.
• Long lengths available, ATC tested up to 12M and up to 40M when using EQ Technology.
HDMI TO VGA CONVERTOR
SD card class.
• The card class determines the sustained write speed for the card; a class 4 card will be able
to write at 4MB/s, whereas a class 10 should be able to attain 10 MB/s.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
• A display monitor is an electronic device used to display video output from computers.
• A display monitor is comprised of the following:
• Display module: Often the type that uses thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-
LCD) technology
PIR SENSOR
• PIR often referred to as, "Passive Infrared", "Pyro
electric", or "IR motion" are sensors which allow to sense
motion, almost always used to detect whether a human
has moved in or out of the sense range.
• The sensor in a motion detector is actually split in two
halves. The reason for that to look to detect motion
change which are not at average IR levels. The two
halves are wired up so that they cancel each other out. If
one half sees more or less IR radiation than the other, the
output will swing high or low.
• Most PIR sensors have a 3-pin connection at the side or
bottom. One pin will be ground, another will be signal
and the last pin will be power. Power is usually up to 5V
SOFTWARE USED
• The following software are used • The following programming
languages are used :
1.Putty
2.Advanced IP scanner 1. Bootstrap
5.Notepad++ 4. Java
