What will I do next after
getting the results of my
research?
Workplan – contains the research
timelines; when will the project begin
and how long will it take for it to be
completed; include time estimates for
each step in the research process (e.g.
5 days, 2 weeks)
Cost Estimates – include detailed
research cost, broken down per
research task, activity and/or
deliverable; it can be further grouped
by tranche for easier reference of the
evaluation committee.
Action Plan – indicates how the results of the
action research will be utilized; how will the
findings be implemented in the classroom; how
will the findings be shared to other
teachers/schools with different teaching
environment; how will the findings be
implemented to other students/schools with
different learning environment
List of Reference – includes what you
have cited within the text and sources
you have used. Consult APA 6th ed.,
2nd printing.
APA – American Psychological
Association style is most commonly
used to cite sources within the social
sciences. It offers examples for the
general format of APA research papers,
in-text citations, endnotes/footnotes and
the reference page.
List the sources in alphabetical order
using the author’s last name. If a
source has more than one author,
alphabetize using the first one. If an
author is unknown, alphabetize that
source using the title instead.
List the author’s last name and first initials, with a
comma separating the names and initials and
periods after the initials.
Ex.: Smith, M.A.
After the author’s name, list the date of publication
in parentheses, with a period following the closing
parenthesis.
Ex.: Smith, M.A. (1995).
List the title of the article – capitalize only the first
word of the title unless subsequent words are
proper nouns. End with a period. This step does not
apply if you are referring to an entire book. Do not
put the title in quotation marks or italics.
Ex.: Smith, M.A. (1995). The elements of dance
(3rd ed.).
List the place of publication of the book and then
the name of the publisher, with a colon separating
them. Follow the publisher with a period.
Ex.: Smith, M.A. (1995). The elements of dance
(3rd ed.). New York: Macmillan.
