How to Choose the Next Step?

Why is it important?

 The optimal moment to address the question of what


your child should study next has arrived.

 This involves careful decision making.

 The more you know, the better informed you are, and
there are more chances that you will make the best
possible decision.

 In some cases there are regrets. Not everyone can be


100% sure. However, we can certainly reduce the risks
by researching the subjects and the options available.

This presentation is intended to help you


make the right decision. 3
Promotion Criteria

For promotion, students are expected to obtain:


 A minimum of 60 % in English in the Annual
Examination
 A minimum of 60 % in two other core subjects
(i.e., Mathematics, and Science)
 An overall Annual Examination average of at
least 60 % (the exam average of all subjects)

Students intending to take the Science group in


O-Level are expected to obtain at least 60 % in
General Science in the Annual Examination

Students will be asked to join the matric stream

 Examinations are held in May/June and
October/November each year with results issued
in August and January respectively
 O Level grading is accepted by Universities in
many countries, including Canada and the USA,
who will admit students on the basis of their O
Level performances alone.
 Grade C in O Level English Language satisfies
the English proficiency requirements of many
universities in the UK and other countries.

Grading Criteria
Grades are awarded in each subject according to the
following percentages:

 A* 90-100
 A 80-89
 B 70-79
 C 60-69
 D 50-59
