REINFORCEMENT BAR INSTALLATION

1. Vertical Reinforcement dowels may be installed during concreting of floor slab or by post drilling
and fixing with structural epoxy.

Note:
 In post drilling, make sure to avoid hitting embedded elements (conduits, box, etc.), look for
markers placed on slabs.
2. Consult plans for schedule and spacing of reinforcements.

• Vertical- Stated in spacing (i.e. ““Provide Vertical Reinforcement 10mm dia. @400mm spacing)
• Horizontal – stated in spacing or number of Layers of CHB (i.e. “Provide Horizontal Reinforcement
of 10mm dia. @ every three (3) layers of CHB.

REINFORCEMENT BAR INSTALLATION

3. Be aware of additional Ø16 reinforcement called for in plans for corners,

junctions, openings, jamb location, etc.

4. Complete rebar installation on identified location of Stiffener columns for walls

exceeding the length as specified in General Notes. Install prior CHB laying for ease
in installation and this will also serve as termination marker to the masons when
laying CHB.

5. Check plans and General notes for schedule of reinforcements of Lintel beam
requirements on top of openings and wall exceeding the height as specified in
General Notes.
PRE ACTIVITY TRAINING AND ORIENTATION ON QUALITY SAFETY
REINFORCEMENT BAR INSTALLATION

6. For
high walls stiffener beams shall be provided @ 3000mm O.C. and for long walls stiffener
columns acting as columns shall be provided @ 4000mm O.C.

7. Drill dowels for horizontal reinforcement after identifying the lay-out of your CHB
stacks/layers. Install and fix with structural epoxy.

8. Drill dowels on slab soffits or beam soffits to match location of vertical reinforcements.
Please take notes of embedded elements and refer to provided markings to prevent
damage. Install and fix with structural epoxy or refer to plans if seismic isolator is required.

9.For vertical reinforcements, it is advisable to limit the length of splice to 1.50m for ease of
installation of CHB as reinforcements are needed to be inserted inside the cells of CHB.
