• Describe the new/current communication
practices in the world of employment, citizenship
and personality/identity.
• What was happening, or not happening but
perhaps should happen, in the teaching of
language and literacy in schools?
• What do you understand from pedagogy of
multiliteracies?
• What are the two multi dimensions of literacies?

• How much impact does multimodality have had on
educational theory and practice?
• Should we see multimodality as something in which
students are already literate?
• Is there a role for educators in developing multimodal
literacies beyond the media and entertainment
literacies with which they are already familiar? If so in
which directions and why?
• Have we achieved the right balance between educating
for the sake of cultural and social values and educating
to provide access to the skills we need to get by in a
society?
