Based Wireless Sensor Network ABSTRACT • The main goal of our project is to introduce the application of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in long distance infrastructure monitoring in particular in pipeline infrastructure monitoring. A Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based wireless sensor network (WSN) is developed for nondestructive monitoring of pipeline systems. It incorporates MEMS accelerometers for measuring flow- induced vibration on the surface of a pipe to determine the change in water pressure caused by rupture and the damage location. This work presents an experimental investigation of the relationship between flow-induced vibration and the pressure fluctuations. The use of Wireless Sensor Network to continuously monitor water system performance to detect any failure or security breach has been explored. INTRODUCTION • Pipeline systems are widely used for distribution and transportation of petroleum, natural gas, water, and sewage. • Leaks and ruptures due to an aging and fast decaying pipeline system infrastructure cost millions of dollars a year; they also make clear the necessity for continuous, automatic monitoring systems that can provide early detection and early warning of defects, such as corrosion and leaks, before they reach the magnitude of a major disaster. EXISTING SYSTEM • With the use of real-time acquisition using heterogeneous pressure sensors, communication and in network processing. PROPOSED SYSTEM
• In this system, we design wireless sensor networks
can detect, localize, and identify bursts and leaks in pipeline systems. Fluid Flow sensors can be mounted on the pipelines for measuring water flow volume that propagate along the pipes. A network of flow sensors provide a real-time continuous and automatic monitoring of the health of the pipeline systems. Leakage detection sensors detects any moisture at the surround of pipes by sensing variance in impedance of the probes. WSN provides exact location of the damage and failure to achieve reasonable performance for real-time monitoring. BLOCK DIAGRAM
