Build Control Functionalities

Introduction:
The Build Control tool provides the user the following functionalities,
 It saves programs, data libraries, local reference table definitions,
standard selection descriptors and releases them in another T24
environment.
 Automatic restoration of data libraries using DL.DEFINE.
 Automatic authorization of restored records using OFS.
 Releasing the descriptors.
 Updating the LOCAL.REF.TABLE with the saved definitions.
 Compile/Catalog the programs released.
The resultant package will be saved in the path given in SAVE.PATH
field, along with an index that will be used for release operations. The
contents of the package will be similar to DL.DEFINE.

Pre-Requisites

System Requirements:
The following are the pre-requisites for installing this package.
 jBASE Release 4.1.4.xx or Higher
 T24 Release R4 or higher
 T24 Desktop Client Version 1.4 or higher

Contents of the Package

The contents of the package as follows,
 TMNS000-BUILD.CONTROL.tar.gz – DL.DEFINE unit contains the
data records of BUILD.CONTROL
 RAD.BP.zip – Contains the Object and Insert files.

Pre-Requisites

 Paste the TMNS000-BUILD.CONTROL directory in the path

..\F.DL.DATA\DL.RESTORE as shown below.

This directory contains the data

records of BUILD CONTROL as a
DL.DEFINE unit.

Parameter Set-up

 Appending the lib in the remote.cmd file.

Append the GR0800004lib to the

JBCOBJECTLIST in the
remote.cmd file

Pre-Installation Tasks

At the HOME directory

..\bnk.run

Paste here the RAD.BP which consists

of object code files and insert files of
BUILD.CONTROL tool.

Installation

Create the directory F.BCON.DATA

under the path..\bnk.interface from the
bnk.run directory.

Now under the directory

F.BCON.DATA, create two directories
namely SAVE and RELEASE as
shown here.

Installation

setting the path of JBCDEV_LIB as

GR0800004lib.

Cataloging the Object files from the

RAD.BP. The insert files in the
RAD.BP won't be cataloged.

Cataloging the RAD.BP will create

the library files in the bnk.run
directory with the lib name
GR080004lib as set in JBCDEV_LIB.

Defining DL.PARAMETER & DL.DEFINE

Mode (V).

Step 4: Verifying the DL.DEFINE with the id ‘TMNS000-BUILD.CONTROL

in Verify Mode (V). This will result in transferring and restoring the build
control records into the T24 application installed at the local machine.

Authorizing DL.DEFINE records

 DL.DEFINE will release all the records of BUILD CONTROL into the
T24 application in IHLD status (Input Held status).
 The records in the below application can be found in the Exception list
of the respective application.
 These records are to be authorized in Input mode initially and then
authorized with ‘A’ mode.

 Finally Sign-off from T24 and Log out of the jBASE.

 Now the Build Control tool has been successfully installed in your local
machine / environment !

Configuring the System

 Setting up the Company with the ID as ‘GB-001-0001’ as shown below.

 This should be setup in all the applicable companies.

Configuring the System

BUILD.CONTROL.PARAMETER:
 Setup the BUILD.CONTROL.PARAMETER table for all the applicable
companies as below.
 The ID to this table is the COMPANY ID.
 Use the version “BUILD.CONTROL.PARAMETER,MAIN” to setup this
record.
 Most of the fields are automatically defaulted once the ID for this record
is entered. The user can however amend these fields based on the
local requirements.
 If this record is not setup then every time a BUILD.CONTROL record is
Input / Copied / Verified then an override will be displayed with the
message “BUILD.CONTROL.PARAMETER not set! Default
Parameterisation will be used”.
