CMOS TECHNOLOGY AND

APPLICATION IN IoT
WHAT IS CMOS TECHNOLOGY?

• CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor). The

complementary term refers to the use of two types of
transistors in the output circuit. Channel-n and channel-p
MOSFET (MOS Field-Effect Transistor) are used.
WHAT IS CMOS TECHNOLOGY?
• Today, most of the integrated
circuits that are manufactured use
CMOS technology. This includes
microprocessors, memories, digital
signal processors, and many other
types of digital integrated circuits
with considerably low power
consumption.
WHAT IS CMOS TECHNOLOGY?

• MOSFET (Metal-oxide-semiconductor Field-effect transistor). is

a transistor used to amplify or switch electronic signals. It is
the most widely used transistor in the microelectronic industry,
whether in analog or digital circuits, Virtually all commercial
microprocessors are based on MOSFET transistors.
WHAT IS CMOS TECHNOLOGY?

• The MOSFET is a four terminal device called S(Source),

D(Drain), G(Gate) and B(Bulk). However, the substrate is
usually connected internally to the source terminal and for this
reason three terminal MOSFET devices can be found.
APLICATION(MOSFET)

The most common way to use MOSFET transistors is in CMOS

circuits, consisting of the use of PMOS and NMOS
complementary transistors. The most common discrete MOSFET
applications are:
• Resistance controlled by tension.
• Power commutation circuits.
• Frequency mixers, with double door MOSFET.
ADVANTAGES
• Low static power consumption
• CMOS circuits are simple to
design.
• Thanks to their regenerative
character, CMOS circuits are
robust against noise or signal
degradation due to metal
impedance.
