 "Son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the
house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the
word at My mouth, and warn them from Me.
 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou
shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn
the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall
die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at
thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked
of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from
his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast
delivered thy soul." Ezekiel 33:7-9.
 Are we to wait until the fulfillment
of the prophecies of the end before
we say anything concerning them?
Of what value will our words be
then? Shall we wait until God's
judgments fall upon the
transgressor before we tell him
how to avoid them? Where is our
faith in the word of God?
 Must we see things foretold come
to pass before we will believe what
He has said? In clear, distinct rays
light has come to us, showing us
that the great day of the Lord is
near at hand, "even at the doors."
Let us read and understand before
it is too late. –- 9t 20.2
A looming crisis…

who occupy positions of
trust and authority, thinking
men and women of all
classes, have their attention
fixed upon the events taking

 …They are watching the strained,
restless relations that exist among the
nations. They observe the intensity
that is taking possession of every
earthly element, and they recognize
that something great and decisive is
about to take place--that the world is
on the verge of a stupendous crisis.

The Great Timeline
 For precept must be upon
precept, precept upon
precept; line upon line,
line upon line; here a
little, and there a little.
Isaiah 28:10.
 To the law and to the
testimony: if they speak
not according to this
word, [it is] because [there
is] no light in them.

 We are so thankful that we have a sure word
of prophecy, so that none of us need be
deceived. We know that there are heresies
and fables in our world at the present time,
and we want to know what is truth. It
becomes us to search carefully for ourselves
that we may gain this knowledge. We cannot
do this with a mere reading of the Scriptures,
but we must compare scripture with
scripture.

2 Peter 1:19
 We must search the Scriptures for ourselves, so
that we shall not be led astray; and while many
may be led astray because there are all kinds
of doctrines in our world, there is one truth.
Many may come to you and tell you that they
have the truth, but it is your privilege to search
the Scriptures for yourself. "To the law and to
the testimony: if they speak not according to
this word, it is because there is no light in
them." We must be acquainted with the
Scriptures ourselves, that we may understand
the true reason of the hope that is within us.

 There is a study of history that is not to be
condemned. Sacred history was one of the studies in
the schools of the prophets. In the record of His
dealings with the nations were traced the footsteps
of Jehovah. So today we are to consider the dealings
of God with the nations of the earth. We are to see in
history the fulfillment of prophecy, to study the
workings of Providence in the great reformatory
movements, and to understand the progress of
events in the marshaling of the nations for the final
conflict of the great controversy. {CT 379.3}

heaven, declaring the day and
hour of Jesus’ coming, and
delivering the everlasting
covenant to His people. Like peals
of loudest thunder His words roll
through the earth. …

glory, and shine as did the face of
Moses when he came down from
Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon

 The voice of God is heard from
heaven, declaring the day and hour of
Jesus' coming, and delivering
everlasting covenant to His people.
Like peals of loudest thunder His
words roll through the earth. {Mar
287.2}
 He spoke one sentence, and then paused,
while the words were rolling through the
earth. The Israel of God stood with their eyes
fixed upward, listening to the words as they
came from the mouth of Jehovah and rolled
through the earth like peals of loudest
thunder. It was awfully solemn. At the end of
every sentence the saints shouted, "Glory!
Hallelujah!" {Mar 287.3
 The living saints, 144,000 in number, knew and
understood the voice, while the wicked thought it
was thunder and an earthquake. {Mar 287.4}
 The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes
fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up

 Yet God had chosen Israel. He had called
them to preserve among men the knowledge
of His law, and of the symbols and
prophecies that pointed to the Saviour. He
desired them to be as wells of salvation to the
world. What Abraham was in the land of his
sojourn, what Joseph was in Egypt, and Daniel
in the courts of Babylon, the Hebrew people
were to be among the nations. They were to
reveal God to men.
 …{The} Seventh-day Adventist(s) is {ARE} to be to
the world what Joseph was in Egypt and what
Daniel and his fellows were in Babylon. As in the
providence of God these chosen ones were taken
captive, it was to carry to heathen nations the
blessings that come to humanity through a

representatives of Jehovah. They were never to
compromise with idolaters; their religious faith
and their name as worshipers of the living God
