BUS MARSHALL

 Objective:
The purpose of assigning Bus Marshalls in
every contractor’s passenger buses / coasters
is to reduce the traffic violations committed by
the drivers as well as preventing unacceptable
and unruly behavior of passengers.

 Nomination of Bus Marshalls

Construction and Administration

departments nominates one bus Marshall
for each bus. He may be a foreman,
supervisor or a craftsman who is trained
possess sound knowledge of all traffic
rules and regulations. The front seat of the
bus is reserved for the Bus Marshall and a
Bus Marshall name plate will be fixed on
the front seat. Nobody else is allowed to sit
in that particular seat.

 Responsibilities of the Bus
Marshall

 The Bus Marshall should possess a good

knowledge of all the traffic rules and
regulations of the government of Saudi
Arabia as well as the Saudi Aramco
Fadhili Project.

 The Bus Marshall’s are responsible to

ensure that passengers and drivers are
complying with the traffic rules and
regulations.

 Ensure that passengers are courteous
and do not use profanity
 Ensure passengers do not discard
drinking bottles and trash on bus
 Ensure passengers are not destructive
on the bus
 Ensure passengers stay in their seats
while the bus is moving

 Ensure passengers are to keep head, hands
and feet inside bus
 Ensure passengers are to keep hands to
themselves
 Bus Marshalls are authorized to assign
seats if need be
 The Bus Marshall’s are responsible to
ensure that passengers and driver are
complying with the traffic rules and
regulations.

 Responsibilities of the Bus
Marshall cont.
The bus Marshall should monitor the driving attitude
of the driver, if he fails to comply with the traffic
rules, the bus Marshall should verbally notify this to
the driver and then report it to the Admin or HSE
department.

The bus Marshall should monitor the Speed of the

bus and whether the driver is obeying all traffic rules
and observing all traffic signals, traffic signs.
Drivers are not allowed to text, accept, make phone
calls while driving.

 Responsibilities of the Bus
Marshall – Cont.
 Before starting the journey the Bus Marshall shall ensure
all the passengers as well as the drivers are buckled up.
 In case of any damaged seat belt, the Bus Marshall should
not allow any body to sit in that particular seat.
 Bus Marshall are to ensure that the no smoking policy is
enforced on the buses.
 The Bus Marshall warn and report, if anybody is horse
playing or misbehaving inside the bus.
 The Bus Marshall should ensure that employees when
standing in line and waiting to get on the bus are behaving
in a professional manner.
 The Bus Marshall should ensure that the emergency door
is not locked and he should warn and report if anybody
uses the emergency door unnecessarily.
