INTRODUCTION

 Usha Martin is the largest wire rope manufacturer in the world and
leading specialty steel producer in India. With a history of more than 50
years the company has global base of wire rope manufacturing which
are located in India, UK,Dubai and Bangkok.
 Also it has collaborated with globally reputed companies like Gustav
wolf of Gernany,Joh pengg of Austria and Tesac wire rope of Japan.
 It Manufactures high quality ropes which are used in oil &
offsore,mining,crane,elevator,bridges ,etc.
 Contribution to social developments like women
empowerment,education,healthcare,animal husbandry.
For e.g. Krishi Gram Vikas Kendra(KGVK),
Usha Martin Ltd,Ranchi.

 Mr. B.K. Jhawar,the Chairman, established Usha Martin Limited in


1960.
 Usha Martin at Tatisilway near Ranchi is the world’s largest wire rope
manufacturing plant spread across 500 acres with almost 1700 of
employees.
 Along with Wire Rope, this unit produces Wires, LRPC Strands, Cords,
OT Wires, Slings,Pre Stressing Products, Bright Bar and Engineering
Machines.
 The facility is certified with ABS Manufacturing Certification, API
Certificate, DNV Certificate, ISO 9001 – 2008 (ANAB, UKAS), ISO
14001, Lloyd’s Certificate, NABL Certificate for Mechanical Test &
NABL Certificate for Chemical Test.
Training and Development
 Training is the process of increasing the knowledge and imparting
specific skills to an employee for doing a particular job.
 Training is a practical and vital necessity because it enables
employees to develop and rise within the organization, and
increase their market value and job security.
 Development means those learning opportunities designed to help
employees to grow. Development is not primarily skills oriented.
Instead it provides the general knowledge and attitudes, which will
be helpful to employers in higher positions
 Both are an integral part of human resource development activity
Types of training

 On the Job training :-training given while doing work.

d) Committee Assignments

Off the Job Training:- External training method.


a) Lectures and conferences
b) Simulations:- (creating real life situations)

OBJECTIVES

 To learn the various theoretical aspects of training and


development
 To examine the impart of training on the workers.
 To measure the differential change in output due to training.
 To gain knowledge about latest training and development program
at Usha Martin Ltd. Ranchi
 To know satisfaction stages of employees.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

 Research Design- This is a descriptive research to explore the


effectiveness of training and development at usha martin.
 Respondents Of the study :- The respondents of the study are
employees of Usha Martin.
 Sample Size :- 30 respondents
 Data Collection Tools
collecting data through primary and secondary method.
 Primary tools:- Questionnaires
 Secondary tools :- books ,previous research reports, magazines.

Conclusion
 After completing this project I came to conclude that Training and
development system at usha martin is effective and hence it imparts
the knowledge to its employees in positive way.
 The training system focuses increasing teamwork.
 It acts as a guiding force for the employees to increase the quality
and quantity of work.
 Training increases overall productivity of the workers.
SUGGESTIONS

 After the analysis and interpretation, I would like to give following


suggestions.
 The present method of training should be revised, it should be taken
in entertaining way.
 The duration of the training should be set according to convenient
of the employees.
 On the job training should be given more to the workers and their
skills should be evaluated.
