INTRODUCTION
 Artificial Intelligence is intelligence
demonstrated by machines, in contrast to
the natural intelligence displayed by
humans.

 Artificial Intelligence is a branch of science

which deals with helping machines find
solutions to complex problems in a more
human like fashion.
Brief History of AI

 1941 First Electronic computer (technology finally available)

 1956 Term Artificial Intelligence introduced

 1960 Checkers playing program that was able to play games with opponents

 1980 Quality control systems

 2000 First sophisticated walking robot

Why AI?

 Computers are fundamentally well suited to performing

mechanical computations, using fixed programmed rules.

 This allows Artificial Machines to perform simple

monotonous tasks efficiently and reliably, which humans are
ill-suited to.
Applications of AI

 Autonomous vehicles

 Medical diagnosis

 Playing Games

 Search Engines
Advantages

 Better Customer Support

 Scam Recognition

 Advanced Data Analytics

 Faster actions and decisions

Disadvantages

 Highly Expensive

 Bad Calls

 Distribution of Power

 Reduce Employment opportunities

Unemployment WOES
 Replacement of the workforce with
machines can lead to wide-reaching
unemployment.

 Artificial Intelligence delivered to wrong

hands can turn out to be a serious threat
to humankind.
Future (-)
But wait, don’t be happy…!

 Artificial Intelligence may end in other way too..

 Now, Robots will have full power to think as a

human, even as of anti social elements. So think
thrice before giving them power of cognition.
Machine learning
 Machine Learning is the scientific study of algorithms
and statistical models that computer systems use in
order to perform a specific task effectively without
using explicit instructions.

 Machine learning algorithms build a mathematical model

based on sample data, known as "training data”
Conclusion

In it’s short existence, Artificial Intelligence has increase

understanding of the nature of intelligence and provided an

impressive array of application in a wide range of areas. It has

sharpened understanding of human reasoning and of the nature of

intelligence in general. At the same time, it has revealed the

complexity of modeling human reasoning providing new areas

and rich challenges for the future.
