PRACTICAL RESEARCH II
THE ABILITY OF GAS 12 STUDENTS
IN CONSTRUCTING PROPER
CITATION
• Instructors. This study would raise awareness on how they should discuss the
topic to provide students better understanding of it. This would also give them an
idea of the factors that affect the students’ ability in constructing proper citation.
• School Administration. This would serve as awareness for them to provide
necessary materials and facilities for students to develop the skills they need.
• Students. This study will serve as the basis in improving the delivery of lessons
among GAS 12 students in order to maintain and develop their ability and their
capability to construct a proper citation. It will also help them in their remaining
future English subjects which involves the approach of Citations. They can apply
their knowledge about the Proper Citation through teaching.
• Future Researcher. This will benefit them, as it will give them idea that will serve
as their beginning in making their research. This will also expand their knowledge in
a of citation.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF
DATA
To answer the first question, descriptive statistics such as Frequency Count and
Percentage Distribution were used.
To answer the second question, percentage rank was used to determine the level of
reading comprehension and the level of the mathematical abilities in solving
mathematical worded problems of the respondents using the formula:
n
P= X 100
N
ACHIEVEMENT LEVEL

96% - 100% Mastered
86% - 95% Closely Approximating Mastery

5% - 15% Very Low Mastery

Under the category of type of high school graduated from, the data
show that 19 or 76% of the respondents graduated from public schools
while only 6 or 24% graduated from private schools. Statistical findings
show that majority of the students had their schooling in public schools
and only a few were from private institutions.
On the second category, frequency of reading books, data revealed that 1
or 4% of the respondents said that they always read books, 18 or 72%
said that they sometime read books, 3 or 12% seldom read books and
also 3 or 12% said that they never read books.
On the third category, 25 or 100% of the respondents are 15-
18 years old, and none of them are 19-22 years old.
On the fourth category the statistical data revealed 1 or 4% said
that they had 75-79 average grade in EAPP in Grade Eleven, 6 or
24% said that they got 80-84 grade and 12 or 48% said that they
got 85-89. While 5 or 20% said that they earned 90-94 and only 1
or 4% said that she got 95-99 grade in EAPP.
On the last category, the data show that 4 or 16% said that they read
magazines, similar to textbooks. 1 or 4% said that she read
newspapers while 16 or 64% said that they read other reading
materials.
Based from the data gathered, the researchers came up with the following findings:
1. a. Majority of the respondents was public high school graduates, with a frequency of 19 which
corresponds to 76.
reading books.
d. On the age of the respondents, ages of 15 to 18 years old where sought to be more
books.
Based from the significant findings of the study, the following conclusions are formulated:
1. Most of them graduated at public schools, they sometimes read books, most of the
respondents are aged 15-18, the respondents prefer to read other learning materials and
3. The profile of the respondents has no significant relationship with their ability in
