 Simple Future has two different forms in
English: "will" and "be going to."
 e.g I will wash the car later.
 I am going to play football for Man U.

 Sometimes people use either one, but we

should use them for specific purposes
Use 1 USING “ WILL”

 We use ‘will’ when we express a voluntary

action.
 In other words we use it when we are happy to do
it.

 Example
 I will mark your book later.
 .Wealso use "will" when we request that
someone help us or volunteer to do
something for us.
 example:-
 Will you give me the pen?
 Will you help with my homework?

 Similarly, we use "will not" or "won't" when

we refuse to voluntarily do something.
 Example:
 I will not (won’t) help you make the bed.
How do we form it?

 The future tense using ‘will’ is formed by adding

‘will’ after the personal pronoun/ noun and
before the main verb.
 I play tennis
 I will play tennis
 She sings on TV
 She will sing (notice the ‘s’ has gone) on TV

Use 3 Using ‘ be going to’

 To express a plan – i.e. something you

have decided to do.
 "Be going to" expresses that something is
a plan. It expresses the idea that a
person intends to do something in the
future. It does not matter whether the
plan is realistic or not.

 Both "will" and "be going to" can express the

idea of a general prediction about the future..

 In the Simple Future, it is not always clear which USE the speaker
has in mind. Often, there is more than one way to interpret a
sentence's meaning.
 No Future in Time Clauses
 Like all future forms, the Simple Future cannot be used in clauses
beginning with time expressions such as: when, while, before, after,
by the time, as soon as, if, unless, etc. Instead of Simple Future,
Simple Present is used.
 Examples:
 When you will arrive tonight, we will go out for dinner. Not Correct
