ay maging uliran ng mga nagsisisampalataya, sa pananalita,
sa pamumuhay, sa pagibig, sa pananampalataya, sa
kalinisan.
13 Hanggang ako'y pumariyan ay magsikap ka sa pagbasa, sa
pangangaral, sa pagtuturo.
14 Huwag mong pabayaan ang kaloob na nasa iyo, na sa iyo'y
ibinigay sa pamamagitan ng hula, na may pagpapatong ng
mga kamay ng kapulungan ng mga presbitero.
15 Magsipag ka sa mga bagay na ito; tumalaga kang lubos sa
mga ito; upang ang iyong pagkasulong ay mahayag sa lahat.

young, but set an example for the believers in speech,
in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I
come, devote yourself to the public reading of
Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not
neglect your gift, which was given you through
prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on
you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly
to them, so that everyone may see your progress.

Can you imagine a life without
devotion?

No commitment, no follow-through, no
grounding in what really matters.
I. Be Devoted To Be A Model
Christian(v. 12)

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you

are young, but set an example for the
believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in
faith and in purity.

 Earn people’s respect
• Respect is something you do not demand but
freely given by those who see you deserving.
• As a youth it is a challenge for us to gain the
respect of older people despite our age.
• Sa mga nakakatanda conduct yourself in a way
worthy of the respect as an elder.
 Set a good example

Example is the living witness of every Christian

 II. Be Devoted In Proclaiming
The Word Of God (v.13)

• Hanggang ako'y pumariyan ay magsikap ka sa

pagbasa, sa pangangaral, sa pagtuturo.
• Until I come, devote yourself to the public
reading of Scripture, to preaching and to
teaching.
 The word devote came from the
Greek word “Prosecho”: to give
attention always and constantly, a way
of life.
• Public Reading of Scripture: we are to share the
Word of God openly or in public not just confide
in the four corners off the church facility
• Exhortation: Challenge the people to apply the
Word of God in their lives and not to just listen.
• Make life different for people. It is a very
essential task for us believers to share and to
teach the Word of God to all people (Matthew
28:19-20; Romans 1:16)
 III. Be Devoted In Using Your
Gift And In Fulfilling Your Calling
(v.14)
• 14 Huwag mong pabayaan ang kaloob na nasa iyo, na sa
iyo'y ibinigay sa pamamagitan ng hula, na may
pagpapatong ng mga kamay ng kapulungan ng mga
presbitero.
15 Magsipag ka sa mga bagay na ito; tumalaga kang lubos sa
mga ito; upang ang iyong pagkasulong ay mahayag sa lahat.

Every person has been given a gift
by God at the moment of creation,
we are called to use these gifts,
God wants to use everyone to do
His work.
 Sometimes out of pleasure and
leisure or when we are hurting or
discouraged we tend to set aside
and neglect our duties, roles and
responsibilities.
As believers we must be absorbed in the life and
calling God has given us. We need to have the
following in our walk with God:
• Total Commitment: single minded, focus on God, not a
half hearted effort but with vigor and strength
• Total Effort: total effort, total strength, total focus,
above and beyond ability, 200%
• Progress in Spiritual Growth
A. Greek - Prokope: military term for advancing on an
enemy, no one is where they can be with God and
there must be constant effort to grow more like Christ
B. Christlikeness: progress in knowledge, wisdom, faith
and walk
 The end of all things is already at
hand meaning any moment soon it
will come. As believers we are to
be devoted on things that really
matters. You and I needs to give
our life into it.
• Kung ibibigay mo lang din naman ang sarili mo
sa Diyos ibigay mo na ang lahat kasi walang
ibang dapa gawin at yun ang standard. Either
you give your all and your best to God or not
at all.
• Kung maglilingkod ka lang din naman at
magpapagamit kay Lord mag pagamit ka na to
the fullest extent ng iyong kakayanan at
pagkatao. Huwag ka ng magtira at magkaroon
ng reservations.
