 Chapter 1: INTRODUCTIONS
Background Study
Today our generation continuosly searching for a new
and useful discoveries in terms of our technology. And
this process of discovery and technology couldn't stop
up to this point. That is why today, students are
exposed of advanced technology that gives to them an
instant information, and entertainment.
In this millenium era, the rapid growth of gadgets
which is including cellphone. Cellphone is proven to
students nowaday to give many benefits to its user, but
it also can lead to a negative way such as texting in
class.
That is why the Department of Education reiterated its
prohibition on cellular phone use during class hours. This ban
aims to the students to remain focused on their studies and
learning distractions will be minimized.
Therfore, the researcher would like to make like to make a
research about the prohibition of cellphone to the students of
Goa National High School so that students may know---what are
the perceived advantages of not using cellphone during class
hours, effects of using cellphone during class hours, what are the
applications or features students mainly open when they are in
school, how much time they spend with their cellphone in a day
and to know the benefits of this law to the students in terms to
their studies---these are the reasons why the researcher chose
this problem to make to make a research that could give a lot of
benefits not just for students but also to the school of Goa
national High School.
