Do you know that Dinagat Island has their famous
legend?
The legend is about the undying love between Princess Dina and Prinsipe
Gat whose families were rivals.
Inspite of their families’ differences, they chose to elope and settle in a
paradise of their own.
Because of the bountiful resources that the place had, foreigners to conquer
their land.
While defending their home, they disappeared into the sea
surrounding their island. A few days later, two island appear on
the areas where they were last seen and then the people named these
islets Dinagat in honor of the brave couple.

Even until now, the inhabitants of the island believe

that the couple continue to nurture and protect their
land, most especially from storm and disasters.

*Lake Bababu is one of the most visited place in
Basilisa.
It is already confirmed as the longest water cave
DUYOS BEACH in the Philippines. It is located in Brgy. Melgar of
Basilisa.
• Bitaog Beach is one of Dinagat Islands
hopping destination. Bitaog Beach is located BITAOG BEACH
in an island that is part of Municipality of
Basilisa.
• Bitaog Beach is known by it’s powdery white
sand and blue colored water that is perfect
for snorkeling.
*Duyos Beach is located on the same island 5-10 minutes by boat from Bitaog,
also a white sand beach. Duyos Beach Resort is wider than Bitaog Beach.It has a
really nice sandbar, and has more cotteges, a store, videoke machine, a wide
grilling area, and comfort/shower room. Overnight stay and tent pitching are
allowed in the resort.
