WHAT IS SDLC ?
 System devlopment, a process consisting of a two major
step of system analysis and design.
 The System Development Life Cycle is classically
throught as the set of activites that analysis, design and
user carry out to develop and implement an information
system.
SDLC
 The System Development Life Cycle consist of the
following activites :
 1) preliminary investigation
 2)Determination of system requirements
 3)Design of system
 4)Development of system
 5)System testing
 6)Implementation, Evaluation and Maintenance
1)Preliminary invetigation:
 A request to take assistance from information system can be
made for many for many reasons,but in each case someone in
the organization initiates the requet is made,the first system
activity the preliminary investigation begins.
 A) Request Clarification.
 B)Feasibility Study:- Feasibilty study has three parts
 i)Technical Feasibility
 ii)Economical Feasibility
 iii)Operational Feasibility
 C)Requeast Approval.
2)Detemination Of System Requirements
 At the start of the system ananlysis is detailed
understanding of all important facts of the bussiness area
under investigation.The key questions are
 a)What is being done?
 b)How is it being done?
 c)How frequently does it occur?
 d)Does aproblem exists?
 e)If a problem exists how serious is it?
3) Design Of System:-
 System analysis begins the design process by identifying
reports and other system will produce.Designer select
the structures and sttorage device,such as magnetic
disk,magnetic tape,or even proper file.
4) Development Of System:-
 Software Developers may install purchased software or
they may develop new,customers design proogram.
5)System Testing :-
 During system testing system is used experimentally to
ensure that the software does does not fail.In other
words we can say that it will run according to its
specification and in the way user expect special test data
are input for processing, and the result examined.
6)Implementation,Evaluatio and
Maintenance:-
 Implementation is the process of having system
personal chek out and put new equiment into use,train
users,install the new application and construct any files of
data need to use it.
 Evaluation of the system

 Maintenance is necessary to eliminate errors in

the working system during its working lige.

