● Have not been on the trip before – know lots of


people who have.

● Have not been on the trip before either

We have been working closely with previous trip directors


and the Civil Engineering Department.
About Us - Dr. Markus Dann

● Has taught ENGG 202, ENCI 645, ENCI 647

● Recipient of multiple Teaching Excellence Awards

● Was the faculty advisor/chaperone on the Civil


International Trip to Berlin
Who can come?

● Any student in civil engineering (2nd year +).

● Students on internship.

● 4th Year/Graduating Students

● TLDR: all civil undergraduate students!


When are we going?

● November 8th to November 16th, 2019

● Fall Reading Week

**We may differ from these dates by 1 day, depending


on prices.
Where are we going?

● Singapore
● Island city-state in
Southeast Asia
● Known for being eco-
friendly, clean, safe, and
efficient
● Tourist & engineering

● Chewing gum is illegal

Typically rainy season,

● Visit wastewater treatment facilities
● Explore Singapore’s efforts in energy diversity
● Visit the labs of Singapore’s top universities
● Self-guided walking tour of green buildings and
unique architecture downtown
● Special lecture from Dr. Dann.

Application

● We will send the link to the application form after this


meeting.

● Application deadline is Saturday, June 8, 2019. No


extensions will be granted.
Selection

● 30 people in our group


○ 2 trip directors
○ 27 students
○ 1 faculty member

● Applicants will be selected based on quality of their


application and notified of their acceptance no later than
June 17th.

● A deposit of $2000 will be required from each attendee


by June 24th.
