WHAT IS INTEGERS:

• Any number that is not a fraction or decimal

• Any whole number or its negative

• Example.
• +10 and -10 are integers
• 3 is a positive integer
PARTS OF MULTIPLICATION

• Multiplicand
• Multiplier

PARTS OF MULTIPLICATION
• Multiplicand= the number that is to be multiplied by another

• Multiplier = a number by which another number is multiplied

• Product = something that is the result of a process

REMEMBER:

• The product of two positive numbers is positive.

• The product of two negative number is positive.
• The product of a positive and a negative number is negative.
MULTIPLY:

EXAMPLE:

1. multiply: 5 x (-2)
however, 5 x (-2) =(-2) x (5) Commutative property

therefore:
(-2) x (5) = (-2) + (-2) + (-2) +(-2) + (-2) =10
2. Multiply : (-8) x (-3)
(-8) x(-3) = (-3) x (-8) commutative property
therefore:
-3 x (-8) = (-3)+(-3)+(-3)+(-3)+(-3)+(-3)+(-3)+(-3) = 24
