INTRODUCTION
• Established by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India in
the year 1986 at Delhi, National institute of Fashion
Technology has emerged as a premier institute in the
country to train professionals who can meet the
requirements of the Apparel industry.
• The NIFT is a college of design, management and
technology catering to the needs of the rapidly growing
readymade garment industry which has to meet the
challenges of the global market.
• The institute aims at providing the best international
levels of instruction, with regular inputs from industry
and technical collaboration with Fashion institute of
Technology, New York, The Nottingham Trent
university,U.K. and I F M ,Paris.
• In 2006, the Parliament passed the National Institute of
Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bill, 2006, thereby receiving a
statutory status and empowering the institute to grant
its own degrees and other academic distinctions.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT
• The establishment of NIFT campus in Kashmir was a
demand of local entrepreneurs.
• Students trained in the institute could contribute in
introducing new designs and technology in sectors like
handicrafts.
• NIFT campus in Srinagar will enhance the scope of
textile and handicrafts sectors in the State.
• Establishing a NIFT campus will make them go at par
with the rest of the country besides boosting the
entrepreneurship in fashion textile sector in the State.
• Lack of infrastructure at the temporary campus from
where it functions at present.

• Type of project- Institutional (Live)
• The government has identified 20 acres(77,419.73 sq.m)
of land at industrial estate Ompora, on the outskirts of
Srinagar.
• it is 7.5km away from Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport
Srinagar.
• Srinagar railway station: 17.5 km from site
• It is to accommodate 720 students.
• Status of project: ongoing construction
• Maximum plot coverage: 35%; F.A.R-1.05; Setback-front
and back-7.62m other sides-3.0m

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
• To understand the environment of the fashion
technology and enrol architecture in the creation of
that space
• To balance the academic and recreational zones
by proper blending of the physical elements
(building , landscape, circulation ,utility etc.)
• to provide spaces encouraging a good interaction
within the students as a part of the natural learning
process
• The scope of work includes Concept Architecture
Design for all Buildings/component, detailed
designs and drawings etc. for the development of
building in Ompora.
• Detailed site planning of the entire complex.
• Classrooms and working areas with interesting
interiors and space for display of new creations.
• The project shall have buildings for facilities like –
Administrative and Academic Building, Resource
centre, Auditorium, students hostel with common
facilities, Canteen, display area, staff and faculty 7
quarters etc

INTRODUCTION

• Information technology (IT) is the use of any computers,


storage, networking and other physical devices,
infrastructure and processes to create, process, store,
secure and exchange all forms of electronic data.
• It has an important role in world scenario.
• India has a rapidly growing urban infrastructure
fostering several IT centers in the country.
• Offshore service centers are spawning the in the
country due to operational excellence wit low delivery
cost, quality leadership and a conductive living
environment.
• The It park is dedicated to the invaluable contribution of
business to the modern world.
• It is a place where great minds will meet, collaborate
and develop products and services for the next
millennium.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT

• Few years back number of multinational information technology and


business process outsourcing companies after considering Chennai
as base for their operations, finally decided cities such as Bangalore,
Hyderabad, and Pune due to lack of quality space in Chennai.
• This trend is fast changing with the entry of national and local
developers, who are gearing up to meet the potential demand for
space from IT companies.
• Other reasons for this trend is that companies have realized that
Chennai also offers better infrastructure as much as any other Indian
city, has low attrition levels and a large pool of qualified personnel.
• A large amount of land has been absorbed by the IT and BPO sectors
in the recent years, which is a healthy situation.

• It is located at 5.4 km from Shollinganallur Junction(ECR-

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

• The scope of work includes designing workspaces that


helps in producing Maximum output, parking for the
employees (car and bike Park), substation, Library,
cafeteria, gym and other relaxation spaces through
technologies of harnessing nature, Renewable energy
generation and waste management and reducing the cost of
maintenance to the subsisting level.
• Incorporation of innovative ideas, technology and materials.
• Study and analyse IT.
• Understand various problems faced by IT people and the
industry.
• To frame principles for better work places.
• To harvest enough light from the sun and channelize it into
the building to minimize usage of power with lesser operable
cost for the building.

INTRODUCTION
• A shopping mall is a privately owned public space,
designed and constructed to profit financially the
investor’s concerned while it also serves as a
recreational and shopping destination for the public
• As such, the design principles applied should enhance
its success
• Success of a shopping mall can be described in two
main aspects:
o Business success- This is the success of the tenants
occupying the investors asset and,
o Architectural success- This is the public acceptance of
the space that has been created once constructed
• Combining the two words, a shopping mall is a building
or set of buildings that provide walkways for the public
to walk from one unit to another within the same
building/set of buildings as they go about their business
of exchanging goods and services for money.

• India is world’s biggest democracy, and that is a


subtle way of putting that we have a huge
population around 125 crores and counting and
hence there is already a huge market here for
everyone to survive.
• Malls are one of the most successful investments
which are profitable for the investors.
• With the high rise in demand for goods, malls
would really serve the purpose.
• Noida being a developing space, with the site
being surrounded by residential apartments does
need a mall for recreational as well as for shopping
