• Capacity Charges is payable towards the reimbursement of the fixed
costs of the plant ,linked to the plant availability factor (PAF)
• Full recovery of Fixed charges at Normative Plant Availability

DC =Declared Capacity
IC = Installed Capacity (4x210 MW)
NAUX = Normative Value of Aux Consumption (9.7%)
• Fixed Charges = AFC ( PAF/NPAF)
AFC = Annual Fixed Cost (524.06 Cr/year)
i.e. 1% PAF=Rs.6.660 Crore

• Higher the Achieved PAF - higher the recovery of Fixed Costs of the
plant.

Unscheduled Interchange charges (UI)
OR DSM Charges
 UI charges are payable/receivable depending upon
deviation from the schedule and also subject to the
average grid frequency at that time block.
 UI Charges = (Actual Inj -Schedule Inj ) X UI rate
 Charges for UI are frequency linked and are payable/
recoverable depending on grid frequency if:
a) A generator generates more than schedule – Get UI
b) A generator generates less than the schedule – Pay UI
 This is the element, which is expected to bring about
discipline in the system.
 Area Clearing Price (ACP)- The price of a time block
electricity contract established on the Power Exchange after
considering all valid purchase and sale bids in particular
area(s) after market splitting, i.e. dividing the market across
constrained transmission corridor(s).”

 Revision of DC/Schedule

Revision of DC (Generating End)

• Tripping of unit – DC will be effective from 3rd
time block.
• Day Ahead DC cannot be revised after 22:00
Hrs.
• Deviation of whole day should be within 1% of
Schedule otherwise 20% penalty of Daily base
DSM will be imposed.
DSM RULES for Additional Charges
• No under injection allowed below frequency 49.85 Hz.
• No Over injection allowed above frequency 50.10 Hz.
• Additional charge for deviation(ACFD) imposed when
deviation limits crossed 12%.
