ETHICAL ISSUE/PROBLEM
◦ The Manager assist the customer he take the order before he punch the order, he enter in the kitchen
area the he put the money of customer in his pocket together with a piece of paper that he write the
customer order.

◦ When the order of customer out, the Manager did not punch the order to the POS.

◦ After how many minutes, the Manager take his meal then he called a crew to buy a food outside the
money that he gave to the crew is the money of the customer.

◦ After he eat his meal, the Manager punch the order of the customer. The order of the customer is 5
value meal, instead of 5 value meal he punch 3 value meal only.
◦ Passing out the product.
REALITY CHECK
Employees are motivated to theft because of;
◦ Employees who feel underpaid and overworked.
◦ Employees may steal to ease financial pressures.
◦ Employees who feel unfairly treated.
Moral Norm – are the rules of morality that people ought to follow. An evolutionary explanation of the
emergence of moral norms proceeds in stages.
Moral Standard – refers to the norms which we have about the types of actions which we believe to be
morally acceptable and unacceptable.
Ethical Principle – Ethical Policies are guidelines for all employees of a company to do the right thing and
behave at high standards at all times. Good ethical policies create a good culture based on trust andf
transparency.

That was their moral judgment against him because he was not loyal to his service, especially he
was not loyal to his work. He also became arrogant in his position. He knew that the staff could not
possibly notice because they were confident. May be he’s a Manager.

Distinguish the reason why the Manager do that explain to him what is the punishment that can
give to him apply the punishment and solve the problem.

• The Manager on duty accused to pass out products cost 780 pesos. And base on the revised penal code,
who steal an items worth 250 pesos thus making her/him eligible for the charge of qualified theft.
• Faces a penalty of reclusion temporal, with imprisonment ranging from 12 years to 17 years and 4
months. But since under the code of conduct of the company was aligned by the manager sentenced as
dismissal and banned to any JFC Company.

Frequency of Offense
• The accused manager have other issues regarding money based on the statement of the crew on the
same shift.
• First, the overs from the spot audit of the cashiers was not being punch but instead of money to buy the
managers necessity
• Second, the accused manager used to punch items without the acknowledgement of the cashier;
• Lastly, the accused manager was complained by the customer he assist by giving an receipt which
doesn’t contain all the purchased by the customer.

Harm Done – Because of the incident, the company earned a bad image regarding money issues
especially to the managers.

Kitchen Crew, Dining Crew and Counter Crew).
Affected – Company name, Customer and Employees.
Cost - 780 pesos can make a person theft.

Moral and Immoral
• Moral are the principles we follow that help us know the difference between right and wrong. When
someone is immoral, they make decisions that purposely violate a moral agreement.

• Immoral having no morality, being wicked or evil. If you are immoral, you know what society considers
right and wrong, yet you do wrong anyway. It’s a judgment, no doubt.
Meaning of Theft in LAW
◦ Theft under section 378 covers a broad range of offences that involve the dishonest appropriation of
someone else’s property
◦ The case was under the penal code section 378 which can lead the manager to imprisonment but since
under the code of conduct of the company was aligned by the manager was sentenced as dismissal and
banned to any JFC company only.
