he invented the world famous Quink
Ink that is used in pens all over the
world.
Raymundo Santiago Punongbayan’s accurate
predictions at the onset of the Mt Pinatubo
eruption led to evacuations of towns and
villages below the volcano in the tripoint of
Zambales, Tarlac and Pampanga provinces,
saving tens of thousands of lives.
Baldomero Olivera is a chemist known
for discovery of many cone snail toxins
important for neuroscience. He discovered
and first characterized E. coli DNA ligase,
a key enzyme of genetic engineering and
recombinant DNA technology.
