TOOLS Presented by:

Joemar Yubokmee
Shane Mureill Ascarez
Objectives
The presenters hope that the learners would be able to
know:
1. What are the common productivity tools used in creating
contents
2. How are mail merge and label generation created
3. What are the steps in creating animation and adding
hyperlinks
4. The significance of properly creating dynamic
presentations
Productivity Tools

 Productivity tools can be freeware or shareware.

A Freeware is copyrighted which can be used for
free and for an unlimited time while Shareware is
commercial software that is copyrighted, which
can be used for trial but needs to be purchased
for continuous use.
 One of the most popular productivity suites is the
Microsoft Office developed by Microsoft.

Microsoft Word

 Microsoft Word is a word processor developed by Microsoft. It

was first released on October 25, 1983 under the name Multi-
Tool Word for Xenix systems. Subsequent versions were later
written for several other platforms including IBM PCs running
DOS, Apple Macintosh running the Classic Mac OS, AT&T Unix
PC, Atari ST, OS/2, Microsoft Windows, SCO Unix, and macOS.
 Word contains rudimentary desktop publishing capabilities and
is the most widely used word processing program on the
market. Word files are commonly used as the format for
sending text documents via e-mail because almost every user
with a computer can read a Word document by using the Word
application, a Word viewer or a word processor that imports the
Word format
Microsoft Powerpoint
 Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program, created by Robert
Gaskins and Dennis Austin at a software company named Forethought,
Inc. It was released on April 20, 1987, initially for Macintosh computers
only] Microsoft acquired PowerPoint for $14 million three months after it
appeared. This was Microsoft's first significant acquisition,[10] and
Microsoft set up a new business unit for PowerPoint in Silicon Valley
where Forethought had been located
 PowerPoint was originally targeted just for business presentations. Robert
Gaskins, who was responsible for its design, has written about his
intended customers: "... I did not target other existing large groups of
users of presentations, such as school teachers or military officers. ... I
also did not plan to target people who were not existing users of
presentations ... such as clergy and school children ... . Our focus was
purely on business users, in small and large companies, from one person
to the largest multinationals. Business people had for a long time made
presentations for sales calls and for internal company communications,
and PowerPoint produced the same formats in the same style and for the
same purposes
Microsoft Excel

 Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for Windows,

macOS, Android and iOS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot
tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for
Applications. It has been a very widely applied spreadsheet for these
platforms, especially since version 5 in 1993, and it has replaced Lotus
1-2-3 as the industry standard for spreadsheets. Excel forms part of
the Microsoft Office suite of software.
 Microsoft Excel has the basic features of all spreadsheets, using a grid
of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to
organize data manipulations like arithmetic operations. It has a
battery of supplied functions to answer statistical, engineering and
financial needs. In addition, it can display data as line graphs,
histograms and charts, and with a very limited three-dimensional
graphical display.
Hyperlink

 is a reference to data that the reader can follow by clicking or tapping. A

hyperlink points to a whole document or to a specific element within a
document. Hypertext is text with hyperlinks. The text that is linked from is
called anchor text. A software system that is used for viewing and creating
hypertext is a hypertext system, and to create a hyperlink is to hyperlink. A
user following hyperlinks is said to navigate or browse the hypertext.
