ANGAT DAM

HISTORY AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ANGAT DAM

• Angat Dam is located in San lorenzo, Norzagaray, Bulacan,
about 60 kilometers north of metropolitan manila.
• Angat Dam collects the flow of the Angat River, which passes
through the western flank of the Sierra Mountain Range.
• The dam is 131 meters high and impounds water from the Angat
river that subsequently created the Angat lake.
• Angat Dam has a normal high water level of 210 meters
• Angat Dam has three gates opening a
total of 1.5 meters to gradually release
water that had accumulated due to
incessant rains during typhoons.
• The construction cost of this project is
approximately 553 M.

Angat Dam is a concrete water reservoir embankment
hydroelectric dam that supplies the manila metropolitan area
water. The angat dam is multi-purpose dam.
The function/concept is as follows:
• Power
• Irrigation
• Flood control
• Tourism
• Water supply

Role of lifeline is indispensable from human in the daily life, and
importance to maintain without cutting off the supply is very much
necessary. Lifelines consist of the following 3 aspects in the study.

2) Electricity
3) Telecommunications
