* CONCLUSION.
INTRODUCTION OF MATHEMATICS :
Mathematics is the Heart of engineering, whether it be Information
Technology, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science or Chemical
Engineering.
Maths play an important role in almost each and every branch of
engineering.
When you enter into any stream of engineering, in the first year you
will have to study engineering mathematics and it is compulsory
course in every collage. This is because maths help you to explore
engineering skills very well.
It is only maths that makes your mind sharp. A student who is good
in mathematics can learn almost any stream of engineering.
WHAT IS MATHS ???
In Ramanujan’s Point of view
maths is defined as “ A pattern
Connected with calculus,
geometry, trigonometry and
etc.... Combined together to
form a solution.
WHY DO WE NEED MATHS...???

It is required everywhere, anywhere and everytime

like in –
• Engineering
• Medicine
• Banking and finance sector
• Constructions
• Business
And the most important use is definitely for
‘personal day to day life.’
APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS IN
ENGINEERING...
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (A.C.
CIRCUITS) :

∆ Resistors, inductors, capacitors, power engineering, analysis of

electric magnetic fields and there interactions with materials and
structures.
∆ Electrical engineers design, develop, test And supervise the
manufactureof electrical equipments by using maths...
ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING AND IT
ENGINEERING :

∆ Digital signal processing, image processing.

∆ Computer graphics (zoom, rotations, transformations, animation And
system modelling, digital communications)
∆ Oscillating waves ( circuits, signal processing), electric and magnetic
fields, design of power generating equipment, radio frequency ( RF) systems
and antenna design.
MECHANICAL/CIVIL ENGINEERING :
∆ Fluid flow, stress analysis.
∆ Analyse earthquake simulations to
develop safer buildings.
∆ Structural engineering, surveying,
traffic engineering, geotechnical
engineering.
SPORTS AND EXERCISE
ENGINEERING/ BIOMEDICAL
ENGINEERING :

∆ Signal processing and

analysis, power meters, heart
rate monitors.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING :

∆ Chemical engineers use calculus to model the atomic structure of

elements.
∆ Maths is very important tool, used in all of the science to models results
and explain observations.
COMPUTER ENGINEERING :

∆ Computer engineers
use algebra to model
electronic data within an
operation system.
AUDIO ENGINEERING :

∆ Audio engineers use trigonometry

to model sound waves. This models
are used by engineers to
communicate with scientists in
other disciplines and illustrate
concept for clients.
AEROSPACE ENGINEERING :
∆ Aerospace engineers use equations to measure how much
rocket fuel would be needed to make a trip to the moon.
∆ The critical study for aerospace engineers is fluid
mechanics which is very math- intensive and requires an
understanding of calculus and linear algebra.
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING :

∆ In environmental engineers
use math to simulations the
effects of effects flood on a
community food supply.
AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING :

∆ Agriculture engineers use calculus, trigonometry, and other

advanced mathematical disciplines for analysis, design, and trouble
shooting.
∆ Problem solving skills.
∆ Agriculture engineers’ main rule is to solve problems found in
agriculture production.
APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS IN
OUR DAILY LIFE :

∆ Tech sciences like networking, computer, software

development etc...
∆ Physical science is including engineering, physics , chemistry,
etc.
∆ Social Sciences like Communications, Linguistics,
Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Education, etc.
∆ Medicine
∆ Life and Health Sciences including Pharmacy, Biology,
Optometry, Psychology, Nursing, etc.
∆ Actuarial Science used by insurance companies.
∆ Business and Commerce.
USES IN ENGINEERING :

∆ Used in physics ‘extensively.’

∆ Used in graphics ‘structurally.’
∆ Used in civil engineering ‘Practically.’
∆ It’s used in every field of engineering.
ADVANTAGES OF MATHS IN
ENGINEERING....

∆ Mathematics is integral part of engineering. It helps us to establish

Relationships among different quantities.
CONCLUSIONS :

. ∆ Engineering + Maths = Everything

∆ Engineering – Maths = Nothing
∆ Mathematics rules the engineering
Thanking you...
