*Math – We will have a test on comparing, naming and rounding
numbers tomorrow! We will begin our new unit on addition and
subtraction next week. Students will need to add and subtract
number, subtract across zeros, and AC students will be adding and
subtracting decimals. Our test for Unit 3 will be on Friday,
September 13th.
* Reading –We will continue completing a ReadWorks passage
on the computer this week. We will do 6 of these per nine weeks. We
will continue our Read Aloud Wonder. We will be discussing Theme,
characters, setting, and plot. We will also begin discussing Main Idea
in nonfiction text.
* Writing/ELA – We will finish researching for our animal
writing and begin drafting our writing. We will not have vocabulary
next week due to the shorter week. I will introduce week 5 words on
Friday of next week. We will be learning about simple and
compound sentences in grammar.
* Science – We will continue our unit on Ecosystems. Students
have a study guide in their binders. Our test is Friday, September 6th.
Math: 30 minutes for the entire week of
Khan Academy on assigned topic. Math test
tomorrow. Our next test for Unit 3 will be on
Friday, September 13th.
Vocab: Look over vocabulary words for the
week. Students will need to take home their
Vocabulary spirals to study nightly. Words
are also posted on the blog. Vocabulary Quiz
tomorrow on weeks 3 and 4!
READ! Students should be reading 10-20
minutes nightly.
S.S.: Work on Map in a Month Project – This
is due September 13th.
