• Fashion accessories is the dominant product, mostly acquiring their raw materials
locally within Cebu and mostly exporting to the USA.
• Majority of the employees in these businesses are employed full-time. The results
have also shown that office clerks have the highest-ranking job position
• Average operating years for the businesses is 24.51 years
• Corporations hire more accountants and bookkeepers
• Export companies comply with almost all government regulations
• DTI, DENR’s Environmental Compliance Certificate, and LGU’s Business Permit are
the most complied
• The majority of employment screening used by the businesses are: personal
references, personality or behavioral assessment, and criminal background check
• Business-to-business marketing and direct marketing are the most prevalent
marketing tools
• Environmental concerns are the common problems export industries face
• Increase in price of raw materials are the common problems the industries face
when it comes to their suppliers
1. Company Profile - assess existing management practices of MSMEs in
the export industry
2. Management Practices -
a. improve the companies’ compliance with government regulation
b. implement delineation of functions for the industries who have
none at all and provide feedback mechanism from the
employees
c. develop or improve employee welfare committee
d. create and/or enhance their goal-setting elements and
organization structures for the businesses who lack or have none
at all
e. concretely uphold its stability and optimization on the business-to-
business marketing and direct marketing to its customers and
stakeholders
3. Challenges -
a. research on cultural considerations in marketing the goods
domestically and internationally
b. have an environment specialist or research more on their
environmental impact
