WHAT IS HANDMAIDS OF
THE LORD
It is an integral part of the family ministry of Couples
for Christ Global
It is a Christian renewal and support ministry for
mature women, such as:
* single parents and widows
* separated women
* unmarried mature women
* married women whose husbands are working in
another country or are not willing nor able to
participate in any religious affiliation.
ORGANIZATION

The HOLD was officially born on June 18,

1993.
It was a response to God's call to Couples for
Christ (CFC) to establish a WHOLISTIC
family ministry, most especially dedicated to
women.
WHAT IS COUPLES FOR
CHRIST
It is a global evangelistic community
created by God for the evangelization
and renewal of families.
What are we called to do?
a) Read the "HOLD Statement of
Mission".
b) Read the "HOLD Statement of
Philosophy".
HOW HOLD SUPPORTS YOU?
1. By our committed relationships.
a)We believe first of all, that we have a responsibility
to encourage and support one another in the
Christian life. Thus, we make a commitment to grow
together as Christian women to grow to maturity as
individual Christians, to serve the Lord and to fulfill
our vocations as mature Christian women in our
environment.
b)We have a 5 point commitment which is
embodied in a small white card which we carry with
us. (Please read the convenant card)
2. SUPPORT ROLE OF
HOUSEHOLDS
Through households. All members of HOLD belong to
cell groups which we call "households". At the end of
this CLP, if you make your commitment to HOLD, you
will be assigned to a household.

a)The purpose of a household group is to have a smaller

and more intimate environment for personal support in
the Christian life, and to provide a means for
encouraging and hastening growth as a Christian.

b)A household is composed of from 4 to 7 members and

is headed by a leader, and is set up immediately after the
CLP.

c)The household meets once a week, on the same day
of the week as mutually agreed on by its members.

d)The household meetings are held in the homes of

the group members, on rotation basis from week to
week. Holding the household meetings in our homes
has the following values:

e)There are basically three ingredients in a typical

household meeting: an extended period of prayer and
worship, a time for sharing or discussion, and some
time for fellowship.
3. PERSONAL FORMATION -
TEACHINGS
a) There is a formal first year teaching program.

*Covenant Orientation.
*Handmaids Enrichment Retreat.
*Evangelization Training.

b) Beyond the first year, there are many other courses

(name some) and various training modules for those who
will undertake services in HOLD.

c) Various teachings will also be given through our

newsletter Ugnayan, in prayer meetings, and other
occasions.
4. COMMUNITY &
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

a) Monthly prayer meeting.

b) Lord's Day celebrations, Anniversaries, Family

Days, Evangelization Rallies, Leaders Conferences,
etc.

c)Social activities which allow you to explore and

discover your God given talents
