2 levels above that which is sent
home. In addition to this,
comprehension is taught alongside
phonics and spelling during Guided
Reading lessons. Individual
assessments of reading take place

When will we receive Home Learning?
In Year 2 Home Learning is set every Sunday
and handed in the following Sunday. Home
Learning tasks are completed in their purple
Home Learning books or online via Education
City. Your child will bring home log in details
for this.
In addition to Home Learning tasks, we will
set spelling words to learn as part of our word
study program. These will be sent home
along with some strategies you can use to
teach them. The children will also bring home
their yellow Word Study book so that you can
see how this is being taught in school.
Will my child take a SATs test?
Children in Year 2 will complete a
Dubai wide compulsory progress test
at the end of the academic year.
