• Business Model in start “sell all, carry few”, later it changed to “Online Retailers of
Physical Goods”.
• Successful product - Prime Service launched in 2005, Fire stick launched in 2014.

• SOUQ was founded in 2005 by three of it’s founder and was referred to
as “Amazon of Middle East”
• In 2005, it was launched as an Auction Site
• In 2007, it had risen very steeply by 1500%
• In 2011, it altered its business model to an online shopping site
• In 2014, it offered more then 4,00,000 products and had become one of
the leading e-commerce player in the Middle East in terms of market
share as well as site traffic
• 78% of the total shopping was done through this site
• It had created 2 payment platforms in the Gulf Corporation Council they were CashU and
other was PayFort
• It raised US$150 million by funding
• In 2015, it was valued around 1Billion
• In 2016, it launched its logistic platform subsidiary Q Express
• In 2017, it offered more than 8.4 million products across 31 categories
