Produce a media-rich digital story about a
significant local event based on first-person
interviews. (1,2,3,4)

 For my class I would divide my class into 4 groups with 5 students in each
group. The project would entail the students creating a news show by having
each individual developing his or her own bit to match the individuals interest,
e.g. sports, weather, gossip. Yet, two students decided each group would be to
inform the audience of a local event either within our school boundaries or
relating to education in the community. The students would be able to use
video-cameras, digital cameras, tape-recorders in order to obtain interviews
and/or pictures. The students could also create an “on-site” interview to add to
the news casting show as well. I would have class time designated to the
progress of the finishing project however some would be done outside of the
class as well.
 Another idea would be for the students to work together close to the end of the
year to create a newsletter for the incoming students. I would have them
explain what we do in the class, trips we take, our buddies, technology we use
in the classroom, and their favorite part of my classroom. It would not only
provide an example to the incoming students an activity that we participate in
our classroom but it also provides a students perspective and excitement to
the first day!

Use digital-imaging technology to modify or
create works of art for use in a digital
presentation. (1,2,6)

 As an introduction to the concepts and uses of technological tools

we will be using in the class frequently throughout the year I would
offer them two choices in creating a image of them to be hung up
in the classroom. I would either have them using the digital
camera take pictures of each other, upload it into the computers or
scan in a drawn portrait of themselves. Thereafter, I would have
each student digitally edit there a picture with a landscape or other
animated aspects from the computer.
 Another assignment I would have my students participate in
having them take pictures of events we have had like parties, field
trips, or projects that interested them within the year and each
individual student would create a power point presentation that
had the highlights of their year and have them present it at the end
of the year where families would be able to come to the class to
appreciate the advances that their individual student had
accomplished.
Identify and investigate a global issue and generate
possible solutions using digital tools and resources (3,4)

 I have one main idea for my students to have as a yearly project and
assignment. I would first introduce the importance of global issues like
recycling and world hunger that effect us and the world in which surrounds
us. I would also make them understand that although a small part of this
world we can work together to make a change for the better. Using digital
tools and resources would be researching the program of which to work
towards donating to by creating a power point to present to the school in
order to be the designated class picking up recycling from classes to
collect. I would also give extra credit to the students who would participate
in beach clean-ups and bring in the recycling products that we could
collectively raise money to donate to one of the programs found on the
internet. An example of the donations could be made towards buying a
goat for a family in another country.

Conceptualize, guide, and manage individual or group learning
projects using digital planning tools with teacher support. (4,6)

 I would create an assignment on the class blog in which the

students would have to get the directions by accessing the
blog. The assignment would be to research information to
create a hero report where they would not only develop a
poster board with typed information and downloaded pictures
for the assignment but the students would have to dress up as
the chosen hero. Using digital tools would be research
engines and using the blog is to ask other students or myself
as the teacher. For the students that did not have a computer
at home I would designate class time or morning/afternoon
times in order for students to finish.
