CECABASE® RT: Aditivo para

mezclas tibias de asfalto


HMAs
 HMA, besides being simple to produce,have as a result
good final properties (workability, void, cohesión, módulo,
etc.). However, they have a bad impact on environment and
crew:

 Energy consumption: aggregates dry/heat, de 20ºC a


160/180ºC.

Aditivos Cecabase® RT
 Cecabase® RT is a chemical additive that gives workability to
bitumen mixes at lower temperatures.

 Liquid additive, easy to add to bitumen.


 Only 0.2 and 0.5 % in bitumen is needed.
 No process modification is required
 Production temperatures reduction until 45ºC are obtained.
 No modification on bitumen viscosity.

 Cecabase® RT is easy to
use and allows flexibility on
mix production.

 Continous or batch production.


 Compatible with all bitumen and formulation.
 Stable in bitumen for more than 10 days.

Conclusiones
 Field and lab tests showed it is possible to reduce
production and compaction Tº in 45ºC.
 The mix production was made with no change in
process, obtaining a pavement with final properties
similar to a HMA.
 Big fuel consumption reduction and polution emmision
were observed.
 Other advantages of Cecabase® RT are increase of
transit times, and productivity increase.
