Transportation in the past mostly occurred on land and
sea. But even at early times, easier and faster
transportation was facilitated with the help of simple
technology. It was mainly characterized with manual
mechanism, meaning it needs human intervention to
function. Vehicles with wheels and watercraft that are
made of durable materials are already present to
provide safety in carrying people and delivery of goods.
One downside is that it only has a small-volume
capacity, so efficiency cannot be fully realized.
Present Mode of
Transport
•
With the discovery of fuel and invention of machine
or motor mechanism paved the way for a faster
transportation in the present setting. Larger volume
of people and goods can be accommodated with
much less travel time and minimized costs,
providing convenience and economic benefit at the
same time. Concrete examples of this are trucks
and rail transport, water travel by cargo ships and
flights with aircrafts.
