1. HAMMER
 A hammer is a tool consisting of a weighted "head" fixed to a long handle
that is swung to deliver an impact to a small area of an object.
 Uses: hammering nails, straightening metal sheets, demolishing something.
 Types: Ball Peen hammer, Club Hammer, and Cross-peen hammer.

Uses: to drive cold chisels, set rivets, and bend & shape metal.

Uses: light demolition work, driving masonry nails.

2. SAW
A saw is a hand tool, typically with a long, thin serrated blade and operated using a
backwards and forwards movement.
Uses: for cutting wood or other hard materials.

Uses: To cut wood and cut it even further into smaller pieces with different shapes.

Uses: It is used along with miter boxes and for those that need a
fine, straight, and consistent cut.
3. Screwdriver
 A screwdriver is a tool consisting of a metal rod with a flat or
cross-shaped end that fits into the top of the screw.
 Uses: for turning screws.
 Types: Slotted Flat-blade Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, etc.

Uses: to drive or fasten positive slotted screws.

Power Drill

A power drill is an electrical motor that


rotates a replaceable drill bit to make a
hole in wood, plastic, or metal.
Chisel

 A chisel is a tool with a characteristically shaped cutting edge


of blade on its end.
 Uses: for carving or cutting a hard material such as wood, stone,
or metal by hand, struck with a mallet, or mechanical power.
Basic hand tools

 Chalk Line-for marking long straight lines on wood, concrete or metal


 Carpenter's Pencil - a thick-leaded pencil for marking on wood
 Utility Knife - for sharpening your carpenter's pencil and general cutting, etc.
 Tin Snips - for cutting metal flashing
 Torpedo Level - for quickly leveling short spans
 Nail Puller - for pulling nails from wood - even good carpenters make mistakes
 Speed Square - for marking angles on wood - 0 to 90 degrees
 Tape Measure - a 25 to 30 foot tape measure works well
