Name of Unit: Volleyball Days: 1 of 5
National Standard: Standard 4 (Character) The physically literate individual exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and
others.
Objective: The students will demonstrate teamwork by communicating with one another.
Assessment: Formative assessment by asking the students throughout the lesson how well communicating is going and asking them cues of
passing throughout.
Justification: Volleyball is a lifetime activity where students will learn to cooperate effectively with a team and develop leadership roles while
engaging in a fun, health-enhancing activity.
Modifications: We will incorporate a beach volleyball for students that may need a lighter ball/bigger ball or to switch it up for a couple minutes. We
could lower nets if needed.
