DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PARLIAMENTARY AND

PRESDENTIAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT

INTRODUCTION
Both Presidential & Parliamentary are two different systems of
government.
These two systems are available in different countries of the world, for the
good governance.
In USA, France, Argentina etc. Presidential form, of government is
prevailing
In countries like India, UK etc parliamentary form of governement is
prevalent.
Both the systems are efficient in there task and working.
PRESIDENTIAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT

• A presidential form of government is a system of government where


a head of the government is also the head of the state.
• It leads the executive branch which is separate from the legislative
branch.
• In this the voters elect the members of the Executive branch
• The United States Of America is the best example for this form of
government.
• France, Argentina, Kenya are the countries which have this type of
government.
PARLIAMENTARY FORM OF GOVERNMENT

 Parliamentary form of government is also called “a system of


democratic form of government”.
 In this form the executive branch gets the power of democartic
legitamacy from the legislative branch that is the “PARLIAMENT”.
 In this form of government the head of the state is the different
person from the head of the government.
 In this form of govt voters elect the members of Parliament who than
choose the PM, who becomes the head of the govt.
 UK, India, Canada, Japan are the best examples of this form.
SIMILARITY

In both of these systems they allow people to vote and choose


there leaders. This makes them superior to other forms of
government that do not allow people to enjoy popular
sovereignty.
