• Pedestrian friendly design elements

• Incorporate more sustainable landscapes

Contextual
• Entry- enhance sense of arrival through clearly articulated drifts of planting that frame the entry
• Edges-define the edges of campus by planting of trees and other landscapes
Major spaces
• Interdisciplinary plaza-located heart of campus.the plaza may be surrounded by buildings or series of shade
structures
• Green weave- provides shade,seatings,recreational oppurtunities and strong sense of space.
• Parking lot- clear way finding from parking stall to core academic campus, reduce reflective heat, shade for
pedestrian walk ways
Landscape elements
• Lightings-light fixture should provide consistency, enhance design of landscape
• Manage light pollution
• Manage energy usage through selection of light fixture.
• Manage operational hours.
Proper orientation
• Orientation of building in relation to the sun.ideal orientation is on east-west axis.
• Visual connection to the exterior.
• Maximise south facing glazing with sun screens can reduce solar heat gain and increase day lighting and
glare control.
• Use of skylight, view windows, clerestories.
Conclusion
• Existing forest spaces, water body, bird habitats etc should be protected and enhance.
• Spaces along the boundary can be planted with dense forest type vegetation- to acts as buffer zones.
• Low maintenance spaces for community and recreational use.
• Should follow urban planning principles like vista, skyline, view points, path, edges and land marks.
• Integration of design aesthetic, functionality and flexibility, capital and life cycle cost and sustainability.
• Plan for growth
• Integrate present and future needs.
• Promote pedestrian friendly campus ( walkable campus)
• Maintain the green character.
• Maintain identity of campus neighbourhood
