 TERRORISM
• Terrorism is, in the broadest sense, the use of
intentional violence, generally against civilians,
for political purposes.
• American political philosopher Michael Walzer
in 2002 wrote: "Terrorism is the deliberate
killing of innocent people, at random, to
spread fear through a whole population and
force the hand of its political leaders".

• Weaponizing TV/ social media-
Terrorist are usingmedia to “glorify”
their acts of terrorism just like what
ISIS doing and it is effective tactic for
them and its impact is high.
• Exploitation of CyberSpace - the
possibility of terrorist organizations
acquiring offensive capabilities on the
Internet, hiring hackers for this purpose,
or receiving assistance from terror-
sponsoring countries, and notes
evidence that supporters of the Islamic
State have “a desire to develop these
offensive capabilities.” If such
exploitation happened not just society
will be affected but also its economy.
TECHNOLOGY HAS ITS ADVANTAGES IN THE ROLE
OF TERRORISM

• Terrorist groups could easily disseminate information

without the need of much effort.
• With the use of the internet, terrorist groups can easily
target groups of people and remain anonymous.
• Terrorists are able to gather information about their
victims / targets

 The positive sides of technology has a great impact to
terrorism. Because of these fast and advanced technologies,
terrorists find ways on how to hit a wide number of audience. There
are no boundaries when it comes to the cyberspace, that’s why the
terrorists take advantage of it. It is where terrorists make
propagandas and make an attack to their enemies. Through the
technology, the terrorists has an advantage to communicate and
recruit people to join them. Every terrorist can actually reach a
great number of targets only through the internet. We can say that
as technology improved and developed, people with bad intentions
can take advantage out of it and use it for their own good which
can actually affect the whole society.
