● Segregation through live practice for students at school
● As waste segregation in itself is a regular activity, this will also be an
ongoing program
● Waste will be brought from home every Wednesday, collected same
day by Haritha Karma Sena, Scrap Merchants
● Only 4 categories - PET, HDPE/LDPE bottles, PP (Milk packets), Paper
● Bins for each category will be installed by Local Bodies using Plan Funds,
Sponsorships

● Students and parents get directly involved
● Learn about importance and value of waste by
category, as it is in highly developed economies

● No MLPs, signifying low value

 Concerns
● Waste may stink up the school? - No wet waste, no
water/liquid retention
● Children become waste-gatherers? - Important to
educate. No indignity in handling our own waste
● Haritha Karma Sena may not be available - Scrap
Merchants may take care.
