• ADTOI is a national body of domestic tour operators
• It was constituted on 7th August 1996
• Its purpose is to promote domestic tourism in the country
• ADTOI has approximately 400 hundred member across the
country
• Mr P P Khanna is the President of ADTOI
• Tag line of ADTOI is Domestic Tourist our strength

• The purpose is to consolidate the efforts of all
those tour operators who are actively engaged in
the promotion of “Domestic Tourism” in the
country

• ADTOI has nearly 400 members all over India

• ADTOI members work to ensure delivery of


professional services to the consumer, through its
principal suppliers

AIMS OF ADTOI

 To bring all those agencies actively involved in the


promotion of domestic tourism in the country under one
Organization
 To set up and maintain high ethical standards in the
Tourism Industry
 To organize, participate, manage, supervise or otherwise
help in the promotion of educational, technical and
other seminars, exhibitions, expositions
 To prepare, draw up public plans, surveys, schemes and
reports concerning the status of the domestic tourism
industry

 To encourage and publish the publication of reference
books, directories, periodicals, statistics, journals and
other types of publication and books of a scientific or
technical and educational nature
 To award scholarships and stipends, and other help to
scholars engaged in the study of tourism and its
development
 To establish strong relations between tour operators,
travel agents and other persons and organizations in the
tourism industry in India
 To foster an energetic atmosphere in the domestic
tourism industry
 To affiliate with other societies or associations of tour
operators in India

OBJECTIVES OF ADTOI
• To co-ordinate with Ministry of Tourism and other related
Central and State Ministries in their endeavour of creating the
three essential pre-requisites for Domestic Tourism
development :-

a) “SUVIDHA” in the areas of improvementof facilities


b) “SURAKSHA” guaranteeing safety and security for
travelers
c) “SOOCHNA” upgrading –updating-disseminating
information

 To establish a healthy atmosphere in the domestic
tourism industry and foster healthy relations between
tour operators, travel agents and other persons and
organizations in tourism industry

 To formulate an uniform code of conduct to govern the


procedure of booking, confirmations, payments, refunds,
cancellations, no-shows

 To establish channels of communication and liaison with


the Department of Tourism, Govt. of India, State and
other public and private bodies; and take all necessary
steps to promote and develop domestic tourism in India

exchange and national integration in the territory
of India

 To educate the traveller about the importance of


eco-friendliness and promote the cause of a
pristine and clean environment

 To achieve a level of Accreditation that will instill

CODE OF CONDUCT
 Code of Ethics for ADTOI Members :-

 The member should attend all the meeting held by ADTOI

 The member, absenting from meeting must intimate to any member


of Executive Council about his absence before scheduled day of
meeting and such intimation should be in writing

 Each member must pay membership fee in time

 In case the member fails to do so, the Executive Committee will send
reminder to such member and, if inspite of three reminders, the
member does not pay membership fee or late payment charges as
Executive Committee decides, then further action will be taken by
Executive Committee about membership of such member in ADTOI

CODE OF CONDUCT
 Each member of ADTOI will look after the interest of other
members of ADTOI

 Each member of ADTOI will inform ADTOI Sectt about any of


his defaulting clients

 No active member will introduce any new ACTIVE member for


ADTOI unless :
(A) The active member knows aspirant member at least for a year

(B) Active member has visited office of aspirant member not


more than 30 days before application is forwarded by aspirant
member for becoming active member of ADTOI

CODE OF CONDUCT
 In case any member of ADTOI has business
requirement at any place other than his business
place, then he will first give preference to member
of ADTOI
 To open a Grievance Cell for ADTOI members

 To insist for a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the


previous employer from persons applying for jobs
with ADTOI members

MEMBERSHIP
 All applications for membership must be made on the
prescribed form and must be proposed by two active
members.
 The membership of the Association shall be open only
to such concerns and individuals who enjoy a good
professional reputation
 While applying for membership aspirants have to
nominate one representative in the prescribed manner
 Only the sole proprietor or the partner or a full time
director or the Chief Executive Officer shall be eligible
to be nominated

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
Active Members
Only Domestic Tour Operators are eligible to become active
members and shall have the right to vote

Allied Members
The Allied members shall have the right to participate in the
activities of the association except the right to vote

Honorary Membership

The executive council may invite persons who have distinguished


themselves by their services to the tourism and travel industry in
the National or International field to become honorary members
of the association. These members will not have the right to vote

RECENT ACTIVITIES OF
ADTOI

 P.P. Khanna, President ADTOI and Rajat Sawhney


VP, ADTOI recently met with Valsa Nair Singh,
Principal Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Govt. of
Maharashtra, to discuss about the possibilities of
organising ADTOI convention in the state
 President ADTOI also revealed that state
governments like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab
and Chhattisgarh to organize ‘State Specialist
Programme’ for the benefit of members and their
frontline staff
 Chetan Gupta, General Secretary, ADTOI also
informed the members about the study tour
organised by Haryana Tourism to Kurukshetra

GUIDELINES FOR DTO
APPROVED BY ADTOI
 The aims & objectives of the scheme for recognition of
Domestic Tour Operator (DTO) are to encourage quality
standard and service in this category so as to promote tourism
in India

 The application for approval shall be addressed to the


Assistant Director General , ADTOI

 The recognition as an approved DTO shall be granted by the


Ministry of Tourism, Government of India

 The renewal / extension, thereafter, shall be granted for five


years after inspection conducted by a Committee comprising
of concerned RD and a member of ADTOI

APPROVED BY ADTOI
 DTO should adhere to the tenets of the Code of
Conduct for "Safe & Honourable Tourism" .
 The recognition / renewal or extension would be
granted to the Head Office of the DTO.
 DTO would have to report action taken by them in
their Annual Report which shall be kept with them
& shown to the Committee(s) at the time of
renewal.

APPROVED BY ADTOI
 DTO should have an office under the charge of
the owner or a full time member of their staff, who
is adequately trained / experienced in matters
regarding transport, accommodation, currency,
customs regulations and general information about
tourism and travel related services.
