ASSIGNMENT
• You will be taking music you connect to and creating a playlist that
represents the “soundtrack of your life”.
• You will submit an electronic presentation using the Book Creator app
(square book) including the following pages:
1. Album Cover
2. Bio
3. Link to Youtube Playlist
4. Song Rationale/Explanation #1
5. Song Rationale/Explanation #2
6. Song Rationale/Explanation #3
7. Song Rationale/Explanation #4
8. Song Rationale/Explanation #5
9. Song Rationale/Explanation #6
10. Song list (rear cover)
PAGE 2: BIO
• This paragraph is basically a brief autobiography:
– Who are you?
– Where are you from?
– Where are you now? Etc. etc.
– Something that you like to do - a hobby

EXAMPLE:
• Dear Listener,
– My name is Sydney MacDonald. Thank you for buying the soundtrack to my
life. I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I am a music teacher at Troy Area
Jr./Sr. High School in Pennsylvania and I love my job. I am a singer, but I enjoy
pretending that I can play the piano. When I’m not making music, I like to
spend time with my husband, three cats, Ringo Dingo Doggo, and our farm
animals. I also love baking and playing the Sims.
MAJOR LIFE MOMENTS

• Make a list of at least 6 major moments in your life that have

contributed to who you are today. (births, deaths, meeting someone,
graduation, etc.)

• EXAMPLE:
– Watching the movie Fantasia with my grandmother growing up
SONG CHOICE

• For each of those moments, pick a song that you think accurately
depicts why that moment is so important to who you are.

• EXAMPLE:
– “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinksy: I used to call this the “Dinosaur
Song” when I watched it on Fantasia. It was so wonky and weirdly
beautiful. I also named my cat after Igor Stravinsky.
SONG ORDER

• Now that you have a list of songs, put them in the order you would
want them on your playlist.

• This can be done chronologically, or by what would sound good in

terms of the music.
PAGE 3: LINK TO YOUTUBE
PLAYLIST
• Create a playlist with your selected soundtrack songs in your intended order.
It does not need to be a public playlist. Just share the link in your album.

PAGES 4~9: SONG EXPLANATIONS
• This section is made up of many smaller paragraphs. Song by song be
sure to explain:
– What is the name of the song and the artist?
– Why is this song important to you?
– How does this song connect to your life?
– What does each song reveal about the kind of person you are and what
you think is important in you life?
• EXAMPLE:
 The first song on my album is “Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinski. As a child, I
would make my grandmother watch Disney’s Fantasia with me every day. This is
one of my most memorable songs from the movie. It is a cacophony of weirdly
wonderful music animated with the extinction of the dinosaurs. To this day, I
believe it is what kick-started my musically-centered thought process and
eventually my career in music. I also named my first cat Igor after the composer.
ALBUM COVER
(FRONT & BACK PAGES)
• The last thing to finish for this project is the album cover. You need a
front and a back. The front should have the title of your album, your
name, and some kind of a design. The back should have a listing of
the song titles and who sings/performs them.
