to him.

discriminated against by the Spaniards.

Rizal failed to win scholastic honors.

 Rizal would no longer endure the
rampant bigotry, discrimination and
hostility in the UST.
 For the first time Rizal did not seek his
parents’ permission and blessing to study
abroad.
