Visitors Health & Safety Induction – Rules
Introduction:

In the interest of Health & Safety of all Mine requires that all visitors
give their full cooperation and commitment in adhering to the
following:

Alcohol and Substance Limit


•The acceptable alcohol and substance limit is 0.0% (ZERO
TOLARANCE)
•Random tests are conducted daily

Road Safety
•Adhere to speed limits
•Drive with headlights switched on at all times
•Wear safety seat belts at all times whilst travelling in a vehicle
•Adhere to all traffic rules/no talking on cell phones whilst driving

Emergency Response
In the case of an medical emergency there is a site first aid station
manned by a Life-support Paramedic and a clinic manned by Doctor.

Workplace Hazards and Associated Risks

1. Falling Objects/Rocks
- PPE , Workplace Entry Risk Assessments , Competent
Employees, Correct Tools and equipment, Audits and
Inspections
2. Uneven Surfaces
- PPE, Roadway Maintenance Procedures, Audits and
Inspections
3. Slippery Surfaces
- PPE, Water control procedures , Regular Audits and
Inspections
4. Airborne dust
- PPE, Occupational Hygiene and Environmental monitoring

Health and Safety Rules
1. No Cell Phones are allowed underground

2. Always remain with the person who accompanies you underground/surface

3. Do not stray from the group

4. Do not venture off on your own

5. Do not go past “No Entry” signs unless given permission by the Supervisor in
charge of the working place

6. Ensure that the person in charge knows where you are at all time

7. Do not tamper with electrical or mechanical equipment or installations

8. Do not come close to moving machinery

Men and Machinery Interface
1. Men and Machinery Surface:
 - Always walk in designated walkways as per the Mines Traffic
Management Plan.
 - Never walk in roadways or cross barriers
 - Ensure that you wear the necessary surface PPE i.e. Goggles, Gloves,
Hardhat , reflector vest and Safety Shoes.

2. Men and Machinery Underground:


 - Remember machinery have the right of way
 - Machinery have a red & green sticker
 - Always stay on green side of machine (Drivers
side)
 - Use cubbies in roadways that are situated 30m apart
 - Always stay with Supervisor/Manager. Do not travel alone
 - Always travel in designated travelling ways
