CULTURAL PLURALISM
• Cultural pluralism is a term used when
smaller groups within a larger society
maintain their unique cultural identities, and
their values and practices are accepted by the
wider dominant culture provided they are
consistent with the laws and values of the
wider society

• Heterogeneous society mean such a society
which consists of different kinds of people
from various reason of the world-which is
basically a society that is ethnically
heterogeneous.
• Homogeneous society a society where most
of the people share the same type of cultures
values, language, ethnicity and religious
system.

HETEROGENOUS OR HOMOGENEOUS?
Philippine culture

• The culture of the Philippines is a combination


of cultures of the East and West. Filipino
identity was created primarily as a result of
pre-colonial cultures, colonial influences and
foreign traders intermixing and gradually
evolving together.

• Every nation has its own identity and some


are even part of a larger empire outside of
what is now the Philippines.
Philippine Society

• Philippine society is a unique blend of


diversity and homogeneity. Although
geographically part of Southeast Asia, the
country is culturally strongly Euro-American.
