AUTONOMOUS FIRE EXTINGUISHER

ROBOT USING ARDUINO

 NAME :G. Dileep Kumar

 REG NO. :191612116
 DEPARTMENT :ECE
 PROJECT GUIDE :Dr. I. Chandra
OBJECTIVE :

 Fire fighting is an important but dangerous occupation. Robots are

designed to find a fire, before it rages out of control, could one day work
with fire fighters greatly reducing the risk of injury to victims. The fire
is detected by the robot using fire sensor. When fire burns it emits a
small amount of Infra-red light, this light will be received by the IR
receiver on the sensor module. Then we use an Op-Amp to check for
change in voltage across the IR Receiver, so that if a fire is detected the
output pin (DO) will give 0V(LOW) and if there is no fire the output
pin will be 5V(HIGH).
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION :

 According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), it is estimated

that more than 1.2 lakh deaths have been caused because of fire
accidents in India from 2010-2014. Even though there are a lot of
precautions taken for Fire accidents, these natural/man-made disasters do
occur now and then. In the event of a fire breakout, to rescue people and
to put out the fire we are forced to use human resources which are not
safe. With the advancement of technology especially in Robotics it is
very much possible to replace humans with robots for fighting the fire.
This would improve the efficiency of firefighters and would also prevent
them from risking human lives.
LITERATURE REVIEW:

 Automatic fire detection system using adaptive fusion algorithm for fire
fighting robot:
 Multisensor fire detection algorithm (MSFDA) is one of the current important
research issues for intelligent building. First, we design a fire fighting robot with
extinguish for the intelligent building. The fire fighting robot is constructed using
aluminium frame. The contour of the robot is cylinder. The diameter is 40 cm,
and height is about 80 cm. There are six systems in the fire fighting robot,
including structure, avoidance obstacle and driver system, software development
system, fire detection, remote supervise system and others. We design the fire
detection system using three flame sensors in the fire fighting robot. The adaptive
fusion method is proposed for tire detection of fire fighting robot.
LITERATURE REVIEW:

 Design and Fabrication of an Autonomous Fire Fighting Robot with

Obstacle detection And Fire Detection Using Arduino:
 Fire-fighting is an important but dangerous occupation. A fire-fighter
must be able to reach the situation quickly and safely extinguish the fire,
preventing further damage and reduce fatalities. Technology has come
to rescue this issue, firefighters and machines are now having more
efficient and effective method of firefighting. This paper gives you the
design idea of firefighting robot using autonomous operation. The
robotic vehicle is loaded with fire extinguisher and a water pump which
is controlled over solenoid valve to throw water.
PROPOSED METHOD:

 An autonomous fire extinguisher robot is designed. The robot has

fire sensors interfaced in its control circuitry which senses the
presence and intensity of fire and take the responsive action
accordingly. The robot is designed to detect intensity of fire and
operate first at place where the intensity of fire is more. It is also an
automatic robot as it does not need to be operated from any remote
control. One only needs to deploy the robot in a fire prone zone and
the robot will automatically initiate action once it detects a fire
breakout.
BLOCK DIAGRAM:
PROJECT STATUS:

 The title of the project was finalized . The abstract and the
literature survey was done successfully. The components
required for the project are finalized. The zeroth review was
successfully completed. The block diagram is designed based
on the components required.
 Yet the program required to run the project has to be prepared
and I have to buy the components which are required for the
project.
