Multiple Insulin Injection Therapy

 Insulin reaksi pendek disebut juga sebagai clear
insulin
 Jenis obat insulin yang memiliki sifat transparan
dan mulai bekerja dalam tubuh dalam waktu 30
menit sejak ia dimasukkan ke dalam tubuh.
 Obat insulin ini bekerja secara maksimal selama
1 sampai 3 jam dalam aliran darah penderita,
dan segera menghilang setelah 6-8 jam
kemudian.
 Maka penderita diabetes harus mengulang
beberapa kali dalam sehari jika menggunakan
insulin jenis ini.
 Insulin reaksi panjang merupakan jenis insulin
yang mulai bekerja 1 hingga 2 jam setelah ia
disuntikkan ke dalam tubuh seseorang.
 Tetapi obat insulin ini tidak memiliki masa reaksi
puncak, sehingga bekerja secara stabil dalam
waktu yang lama yaitu 24 sampai 36 jam
didalam tubuh penderita diabetes.
 Karena pengaruhnya dapat bertahan dalam
waktu yang lama, maka penderita dapat tetap
memiliki energi meskipun tidak mengkonsumsi
makanan.
 Obat insulin yang termasuk jenis ini adalah
Levemir dan Lantus. Levemir lebih mampu
ditoleransi oleh tubuh manusia dengan baik
karena menimbulkan efek penambahan berat
badan yang minimal.
 Jenis insulin reaksi menengah adalah insulin
yang mulai efektif bekerja menurunkan gula
darah sejak 1 sampai 2 jam setelah disuntikkan
ke dalam tubuh.
 Obat ini bereaksi secara maksimal selama 6-10
jam, dan berakhir setelah 10-16 jam setelahnya,
contohnya Humulin m3, Hypurin, dan Insuman.
 Insulin reaksi cepat akan langsung bekerja 5-15
menit setelah masuk ke dalam tubuh penderita.
Memiliki tingkat reaksi maksimal selama 30-90
menit, dan pengaruhnya akan segera
menghilang setelah 3-5 jam kemudian. Contoh
obat insulin ini berupa Lispro, Actrapid,
Novorapid, dan Velosulin.
