Mindedness

Mindedness
Civic Sense in Society
Practice of civic sense need to be extended from
family and immediate environment to society at
large
⚫ Change of mindset
⚫ Sense of ownership
⚫ Motivation and attitudinal shift is required to
practice it in our day to day life – at home,
institutions and other public places
⚫ A recognition that you are part of society and
society is also part of you
Civic Sense in Society…
⚫ An understanding that keeping public places
clean is the same as keeping my home and
surrounding clean
⚫ It is a purification of our mentalities towards
ourselves, immediate society and society at large
⚫ The recognition that social awareness and
exercise of civilian duties are also part of my civic
sense
⚫ As civic sense at the end of the day is not about
self but about the self’s negotiation with society
⚫ Working towards cleaning and then keeping my
environment clean, preserving it.
Even in our
enthusiasm to create
awareness we should
still be careful

And not end up

creating another
pile of litter to
contend with
again.

Because Civic Sense

is also about
accountability.
Where Do We Begin?
In the larger society, we could begin in small very
practical ways.
