ABSTRACT
 The campus of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology
(MANIT) is situated in Bhopal on a terrain profile and having
an area of 650 acres. For the transportation in the campus,
students and academic staffs use vehicles. For parking the
vehicles, parking lots are provided in the campus but they are
not systematic and well arranged, because of which many times
students and academic staff face problem to park their vehicles.
The objective of this project is to find the deficiencies in
present parking system of the campus and design the new
parking system according to Indian Road Congress (IRC)
guidelines, so that problem of parking of vehicles is removed
from the campus.
INTRODUCTION
Introduction

 This project can be explained by the three major

verticals-
 Need of Study
 Scope of Work
 Objective of Study
Objective of Study

 Inventory of Parking Facility

 Assessment of Parking Demand at various Parking
Lots
 Development and Design of Parking Lots in MANIT
Methodology
Flow Chart
Parking Surveys

 Types of Parking Surveys:-

- In-Out Survey
- Parking Inventory Survey
- Fixed period Sampling
- License Plate Method of Survey

 In order to ascertain the feasibility of the project, visual

interpretation was carried out during peak hour i.e.
morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in MANIT campus.
Fixed Period Sampling
The initial and final count of all vehicles that occupy
a parking lot during a predetermined fixed time
period is recorded.
No intermediate counts are taken during any interval
of time.
Data Collection & Analysis
